KISS ALIVE/WORLDWIDE TOUR OPENS in DETROIT

KISS MASK WEBZINE
DETROIT, MI.,June 28, 1996: KISS opens their Alive/Worldwide Tour, known as the Reunion tour, at Detroit's Tiger Stadium (Yes, I was there) in front of a sold-out crowd of 43,000. The tour became Kiss' highest grossing tour ever at $143 million dollars, (the highest grossing tour of the year) which had the Kiss playing multiple nights in cities and forcing Kiss to rearrange the already planned tour dates to accomodate such high demand. Three sold-out nights in Philadelphia, which was on the tour scheduled for July, were moved to October, as well as a host of other cities. The entire tour had to be replanned out. Kiss played four sold-out nights at New York's Madison Square Garden ( I was at all four shows) on July 25, 26, 27, 28. This Detroit show (besides the warm-up show in Irvine, CA., earlier in the month) marked the first time Gene, Ace, Peter and Paul toured together since 1979's Dynasty tour.

Check out video of KISS opening the show with "Deuce."
