Fresh out of rehab, Tom Arnold was on top of the world. More importantly, he was ready to pay it forward. As he told 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), he took a tip from 'The National Enquirer' and tracked down Peter Criss. The tabloid said the KISS drummer was homeless in Santa Monica.

As his story progressed, we started to anticipate the inevitable punchline, but the way it came about was still deliciously twisted. Arnold put Criss up in a motel room and checked in on him periodically, trying to help the guy get cleaned up and maybe get into rehab.

But then his old girlfriend from Boston wanted to take care of him. The two battled it out until one day Criss was gone from the motel. The girlfriend had had him brought to her.

"I get a call back from her four hours later," Arnold said. "She goes, 'Oh my gosh. He's in my living room. He's throwing up. And he's not Peter Criss.'"

"I assumed it was him 'cause he didn't have the cat makeup on," he explained to Jimmy Kimmel. At least he can be pleased that he did help someone, even if it wasn't someone famous that he was going to take the credit for.
