Kiss Tops List of Top Michigan Stadium Shows

The traffic can be maddening, the facilities are often soulless, and the acoustics usually stink.
But there's just something about a stadium show.
In Detroit and Michigan, fans have been gathering for mass music celebrations for more than three decades. They'll do it again this week when Eminem and Jay-Z play two nights at Comerica Park. Between this region's fabled devotion to live music and its love of a good spectacle, the path leading to this doubleheader has been a colorful one.
"This is a big city for big concerts," says rock veteran Doug Podell of WCSX-FM (94.7). He knows that a stadium extravaganza is as much a communal experience as a music event: "At these shows, you get immersed in the whole vibe. You just become part of it."

Kiss's 1996 Tiger Stadium Show tops out over Led Zeppelin's Pontiac 1977 show with 155 votes to Kiss' 171 votes.
